A proud graduate of George Mason University, Ms. Wheeler earned both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN). She launched her career at the prestigious National Naval Medical Center—now Walter Reed National Military Medical Center—in Bethesda, Maryland, where she provided exceptional care to patients and collaborated with leading figures in cardiothoracic surgery and cardiology.

Today, Ms. Wheeler serves as a clinical professor at the UT Health School of Nursing in San Antonio, Texas. She draws from her deep well of professional experience to guide her students, instilling in them the same dedication to quality care and empathy that have defined her career. Her specialized expertise in cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery provides students with invaluable insight into complex areas of patient care.

Ms. Wheeler holds a gerontology certification and maintains active membership in the American Nurses Association, Texas Nurses Association, and the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, reflecting her commitment to professional excellence and continuing education.
