Eileen DiFrancesco, MD, has built a distinguished career spanning more than 30 years in psychiatry, earning recognition for her expertise in neuropsychiatry, psychopharmacology, integrative psychiatry, and comprehensive diagnostic evaluation. Dr. DiFrancesco is board certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. DiFrancesco earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a pre-medical concentration from the University of Pennsylvania, graduating with honors, before receiving her Doctor of Medicine from Temple University School of Medicine. She completed a residency in Neurology at Hahnemann University (now part of Drexel University), followed by a residency in Psychiatry at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. She also completed advanced training in addictive diseases through Rockefeller University, further expanding her expertise in the treatment of complex psychiatric disorders.
Throughout her career, Dr. DiFrancesco has served in several leadership roles. She was Medical Director of the Learning Laboratory in Connecticut, where she specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of attention-deficit disorders, addiction, depression, and bipolar disorder, incorporating Quantitative Electroencephalography (QEEG), also known as brain mapping, as one component of a comprehensive clinical assessment. Earlier in her career, she contributed her diagnostic expertise at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine by evaluating adolescents experiencing psychosis for schizophrenia treatment and research protocols. Throughout her career, her work has consistently focused on helping individuals with complex psychiatric illnesses achieve meaningful improvements in quality of life through thoughtful, evidence-informed care.
In addition to her private practice, Dr. DiFrancesco volunteers with Fountain House, providing psychiatric services to individuals experiencing homelessness and severe mental illness.
