Catering to the Titusville, Pennsylvania area, Titusville Area School District has met the educational needs of students in the surrounding region for decades.
Growing up in rural Pennsylvania,
Ms. Jez assisted family members with the butchering of cattle, and transitioned
into education as a teacher later on. Working her way up, Ms. Jez held several
positions throughout her career including classroom teacher, middle school
principal and assistant superintendent. In her current capacity, Ms. Jez serves as
Superintendent of the Titusville Area School District. Having gathered over thirty years of
experience in the field of education, Karen E. Jez is commended for her
outstanding contributions to the industry. Priding herself on her hard work and
dedication, Ms. Jez has served in her current capacity for the past eleven years.
When asked her advice to newcomers in the industry, Ms. Jez states "students have
to be the center of all decisions." Utilizing what she calls the "three
induction model" in coordinating with board members, Ms. Jez treats all of her
students like her “biological children” and she loves them all.
Early in her career, Ms. Jez attained her Master of Science degree and a letter of
eligibility from Westminster College.
In an effort to further enhance her professional development, Ms. Jez served as Past President of the Pennsylvania Middle School Association. She is currently an elite member of several organizations including the Pennsylvania Association of School Administrators and is a Board Member of the Pennsylvania Rural and Small Schools Association.
Charitable to various
organizations, Ms. Jez is an active volunteer and served as Past President of the
Titusville Area United Way Board.
When she is not working, Ms. Jez enjoys art, gardening and traveling with her sons.
Jez
dedicates this recognition to the loving memory of her late father, Byron A.
Enos and to her mother, Eleanor L. Enos. Both were educators for over 30
years.
