With over twenty eight years of experience in the field of
Human Resources and twelve years of experience in her current position at BMT
Scientific Marine Services, Merralee A. Burr is commended for her remarkable
contributions to the industry. Throughout her career, Merralee has attained
extensive experience in providing oversight for the entire spectrum of human
resources functions, and uses that experience in the HR management for BMT's Houston
and Escondido locations, including staff in Brazil, Malaysia and the UK. In her
current capacity as HSE Management Representative, Merralee is also responsible
for maintaining their ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certifications, and is overseer
of the general safety for the U.S. facilities. In addition, she assists employees
in obtaining work entry visas and out-of-country travel visas.
Early in her career, Merralee attended the University of
California-San Diego where she studied Human Resources, with emphasis as an HR
Generalist. In addition, Merralee has augmented her Human Resources education
throughout her career.
To further advance her professional career, Merralee is an
esteemed affiliate of several organizations including the National Association
of Professional Women (NAPW), and the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM).
Charitable to various organizations, Merralee is an avid
supporter of St. Jude's Hospital, United Service Organizations (USO), and the
Salvation Army.
In recognition of her professional accolades, Merralee has
twice been the recipient of BMT's President's Award.
When she is not working, Merralee enjoys reading, traveling, and spending quality time with her granddaughter and family.
