CWS, is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime
Achiever in the field of Medicine as a Vascular Surgeon, CEO, and Founder of
Western Vascular Institute.
Dr. Vranic founded the Western Vascular Institute in
2005 to provide the highest level of surgical skill and patient care possible.
He has hired a team of the most highly experienced and skilled surgeons and
support staff in the state of Arizona. They provide venous and vascular disease
care that is unparalleled to other facilities, offering services at three
conveniently located centers. Dr. Vranic is well-known internationally as one
of the most innovative and creative surgeons, having attained the expertise to
know when to and when to not operate. In addition to his role at the Western
Vascular Institute, he serves as a board examiner of vascular surgery for oral
and written examinations at Midwestern University, abstract reviewer for the
Journal of Vascular Surgery, and educational program director for training of
Vascular Surgeon physicians nationwide.
Dr. Vranic’s passion for medicine and vascular
surgery was developed at a young age. When he was nine, he was hit by a car
while riding a bicycle in Indiana. His foot was nearly severed during the
accident. He met with orthopedic surgeons, who told his parents that his foot
required amputation. His parents wanted a second opinion and made an
appointment with a vascular surgeon, who was able to repair his blood vessels
and reattach his foot. This surgeon was Dr. Vranic’s inspiration to become a
vascular surgeon.
In preparation for his career, Dr. Vranic earned a
Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from Indiana University and a Doctor of
Osteopathic Medicine degree from Des Moine University. He trained as a general
surgery resident and a vascular surgery fellow at Ohio University. He
transitioned to the Arizona Heart Institute for an endovascular fellowship,
where he learned cutting edge minimally invasive
endovascular techniques. He earned additional certifications in wound
care, hyperbaric oxygen, non-invasive vascular duplex/ultrasound, and trauma
ultrasound, as well as board certification by the American Board of Osteopathic
Surgery.
To this day, Dr.
Vranic is a member of the Society for Vascular Surgery. He remains active in
philanthropic work, volunteering at a church in Mesa and Scottsdale.
Dr. Vranic dedicates
this recognition to his mentors Edward B. Diethrich, MD, and Richard Bracken,
DO.
