In light of her academic achievements, Ms. Swope completed her undergraduate studies in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science degree in History with a Secondary Education certification at the University of Illinois at Chicago. In 2003, she went on to obtain her Master of Arts degree in Education-Curriculum, Instruction, and Evaluation, also at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Lastly, she also earned her Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership and Administration in 2007 at Chicago State University. With a commitment to excellence, Ms. Swope holds the following certifications: State of Illinois Type 09: U.S. History/World History (6-12); Anthropology (6-12) and State of Illinois Type 75: General Administration.
Alongside her primary role, Ms. Swope continues to gain valuable experience from various academic positions. She serves as a Chicago Internship Coordinator at Michigan State University, Adjunct Faculty Member and Field Instructor at the University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Education, and Adjunct Faculty Member at Loyola University at Chicago, School of Education.

In 2007, Ms. Swope was the recipient of Gilder Lehrman to England and the Goethe-Institute Transatlantic Outreach Program to Germany. Furthermore, she was the recipient of Fulbright travel grant to Germany in 2009 and the recipient of Gilder Lehrman to Barbados in 2011. In 2014, she became a registered 200-hour yoga instructor with Yoga Alliance, award recipient of the Score American Small Business Champion in 2016, featured in Voyage Chicago in 2018, recipient of the Complaint Free Award with the Better Business Bureau at Chicago in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Lastly, she has been included in Marquis Who’s Who, Marquis Who’s Who Top Professionals Series, and Marquis Who’s Who Humanitarians in 2020.
In her spare time, Ms. Swope enjoys practicing and teaching yoga, traveling, going to live music and theater performances, binge-watching streamed programs, and trying new recipes.
