
Clarence, NY— Omar Zahid Chohan is being recognized by

contributions as an Interventional Radiologist.
Dr Chohan earned a
Bachelor’s of Science degree in nutritional sciences from Drexel University in
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He received a DO from Lake Erie College of
Osteopathic Medicine and completed an internship, radiology residency, and
fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology at Christiana Hospital in
Delaware.
Dr. Chohan practices at Great Lakes Medical Imaging – Williamsville in Buffalo
New York. According to the doctor, Great Lakes Medical Imaging was formed in
2003 to provide Buffalo’s Kaleida Health System with comprehensive radiology
coverage and was founded by six radiologists from Rochester New York. The group
has grown to include more than 30 board-certified, fellowship-trained providers
covering general radiology, the radiology subspecialties, and interventional
radiology. They provide radiology services for 6 hospitals and at 5 outpatient
locations in and around Buffalo, New York.
The doctor is board-certified in diagnostic radiology by the American
Osteopathic Board of Radiology (AOBR). According to Dr. Chohan, the AOBR is an
organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of
Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the use of imaging in the diagnosis and
treatment of disease. He explained that interventional radiology is a surgical
subspecialty that involves the use of medical imaging to treat various diseases
with minimally invasive techniques and conditions including arterial and venous
disease; blood clots; uterine fibroids; and enlarged prostates. Dr. Chohan
specializes in patients that have arterial/vascular disease, enlarged
prostates, fibroid diseases, and pulmonary embolisms and notes that he takes the
time with patients to insure they understand their conditions and the best
course of treatment.
Dr. Chohan is an active member of the American Medical Association the
Radiology; Society of North America; the Society of Interventional Radiology;
the American College of Radiology; the ACR Radiology Advocacy Network; the
American Roentgen Ray Society; and the American College of Radiology.
The doctor is associated with Society of Interventional Radiology; Society of
Vascular Surgery; and American College of Radiology Dr. Chohan serves as the
Associate Program Director for Radiology at the State University of New York at
Buffalo.
