Ellsworth, ME — Rebecca Boudreau is being recognized by
Continental Who's Who as a Trusted
Teacher in the Education field, acknowledging her professional excellence
as a teacher and the owner of Learning for Success.
Ms. Boudreau is a respected teacher and the owner of Learning for Success, an
educational center in Ellsworth, ME. She launched her business in April 2021.
She has been teaching since 2001. Her
learning center provides one-on-one tutoring (both in-person and online), small
group learning, community involvement opportunities, homeschooling cohorts,
online homeschooling, and more.
Ms. Boudreau loves teaching, and when the pandemic caused the world to go to
virtual learning, she saw that there was a way to make this work permanently.
She has Multiple Sclerosis (MS), so when teachers and children started to
slowly go back to in-person learning, she feared it might not be the best
situation for her health. Ms. Boudreau has created curriculums for homeschooled
children and provides a safe place for them to meet for educational
experiences. She has found this to be very rewarding, not only for her but also
for the students with whom she works.
"Since I was a little girl growing up in Ellsworth and attending the
Ellsworth Schools, I knew I wanted to be a teacher," Ms. Boudreau recalls.
"I used to steal chalk from my teachers' chalkboard trays, so I could have
my own classroom at home. I attended school all day and would play school at
home in my free time. Since I always planned to become a teacher, I was
consistently aware of how my teachers made me feel. I learned that the good
teachers were the ones who were willing to laugh with me, see me as an
individual, and care about me beyond my grades."
Ms. Boudreau has implemented these assessments and criteria throughout her own
profession. She strives to build a strong rapport with her students and their
parents. And, she views the education of young people as a collaboration. Her
mantra is a quote from Roosevelt: “People do not care what you know until they
know that you care.”
"After all, we are a team in this endeavor," Ms. Boudreau continues.
"The good teachers (in my experience) were also the ones who mastered the
subject area and always wanted to learn more and could admit when they didn't
know the answer. I have said to almost every student I have taught that
education is the one thing that can't be taken from you. Society can take away
your character, dignity, and integrity. Once it is learned and earned,
education is yours forever."
In pursuit of higher education, Ms. Boudreau earned her Master's degree in
Secondary Education at Grand Canyon University, and she is currently working on
her Doctorate (Ed.D) in Educational Leadership online at Capella University.
Recently, Ms. Boudreau has been inducted into The International Society of
Female Professionals and The National Society of Leadership and Success.
During her free time, Ms. Boudreau mostly loves spending time with her family,
which includes her husband and three children, ages 14, 16, and 19. In
addition, she enjoys traveling, reading, writing, and spending time near the
ocean.
