Sandra Pohlman is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Leading Lawyer among International Legal Professionals. Sandra is the Co-Founder and Partner of DF-MP.
In her current role, Sandra heads the firm’s large and diversified biotechnology and pharmaceuticals practice group. She has specialized in intellectual property in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical field since 1992. A main part of her practice is oppositions and prosecution before the European Patent Office, where she has consistently obtained favorable results for her clients. During her career, she has been involved in numerous patent litigation disputes in European and U.S. courts.
Another important aspect of her practice is due diligence and freedom-to-operate opinions, including advice relating to patent infringement and validity under European law. In addition, Sandra advises domestic and foreign clients in all aspects of intellectual property in her field, with her particular focus in the areas of molecular biology, immunology, pharmaceutical agents and formulations, diagnostic assays and medical applications.
In recognition of Sandra’s vast professional accomplishments, a portrait of the professional career of Ms. Pohlman was featured in an article in the magazine, "The Pennsylvania Lawyer." Additionally, in 2012, Global Law Experts recommended Ms. Pohlman for patent law in Germany and for life science and pharmaceutical patents. She was also recommended by CorporateINTL as a Patent law expert in Germany. In 2011, Sandra's firm was the Corporate International Global Awards Winner for Patents in Germany and was named Law Firm of the Year for Patents in Germany by Global Law Experts.
Sandra earned her J.D. Degree (magna cum laude) from the National Law Center of the George Washington University in Washington, DC. In addition, she also holds a B.S. Degree in Biology (with high honors) from the University of Vermont.
