With over five years of experience in the healthcare field, Simi Sharma is has become a prominent professional in the industry. Having
served in her current role as Director of Patient Food and Nutrition for the
past two years, Sharma is highly esteemed for her contributions to the field. Throughout her career, Sharma has attained extensive expertise in the areas of Management
Operations of four local sites. As the overseer of over 100 employees on a
daily basis, Sharma specializes in the providing quality service while ensuring
the safety of others.
Early in her career, Sharma earned her Associates degree in
Liberal Arts focusing on math and science, from Contra Costa College. Thereafter, Sharma would then go on to obtain her Bachelor of Science degree in
Food, Nutrition and Health from the University British Columbia. Later, Sharma
attained her Master of Science degree in Healthcare Leadership from Cornell
University.
In an effort to further enhance her professional
development, Sharma is an elite member of several organizations including WHO
Growth Chart Training Program, the UBC Entrepreneur Society, and Canadian Blood
Services.
Throughout her career, Sharma has held many prestigious
roles and certifications at the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management where
she holds CSNM Certification, Dietitians of Canada where she holds Certification
in nutritional screening.
Charitable to various organizations, Sharma is an avid
member of the UBC Food Science Club which plays an instrumental role in
developing and instituting a "room service" ordering program for three of the
four sites managed.
