In the legal industry for thirty six years, Stephen has been with Cantey Hanger for the past fourteen years. Admitted to the US Supreme Court in 1993, Stephen is admitted to all Texas federal district courts (2nd, 5th, 9th 11th, and Circuit Courts of Appeals) and is Board Certified in Civil Appellate Law through the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

A member of the American and Texas Bar Associations, Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel, American Arbitration Association Arbitrator Panel and International Association of Defense Council, Stephen’s areas of concentration include appeals, arbitration and commercial litigation such as defense and malpractice.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family and traveling. Additionally, Stephen is on the Board of Directors for Texas Health Resources and is a Trustee at Harris Methodist Hospital. He has previously served on the Chair for Tarrant County Samaritan House (1992-1994) and the Chair for the Tarrant County Metropolitan YMCA. (1987-1991)

Throughout the course of his studies, Stephen graduated from the University Of Texas School Of Law with his Juris Doctor following his undergraduate degree in Anthropology from Southern Methodist University.
