As Colorectal Surgeon and Partner of Colon and Rectal Center
of Arizona Dr. Makarawo’s had developed an unmatched level of expertise. He is
skilled in is Endoscopy, laparoscopic and robotic colorectal surgery, pelvic
floor disorders, Amor Rectal Disease in addition to both inpatient and outpatient
surgical procedures and diverticulum disease. He is also Board Certified in
General and Colorectal Surgery.
A leader in his field, Dr. Makarawo attended the University of Birmingham in
the United Kingdom and earned his Medical Degree and to further his education
he went to West Midlands Hospital also in the UK, for 2 years to complete his
internship and general surgical residency. Later, he completed a residency in
General Surgery at Providence Hospital (Michigan State University and acquired
a Fellowship in Colorectal Surgery at Swedish Medical Center located in
Seattle, Washington. Dr. Makarawo has 17 years’ experience in the industry and
2 1/2 years in their current position.
A published author, he has shared his breadth of knowledge
in Benign Anal Pathology. A Comprehensive Textbook of Surgery Volume 2, the
final editing is in progress. He maintains affiliations with numerous
associations such as Fellow American College of Surgeons, and the American
Society of Colorectal Surgeons. He frequently donates to Desert Springs Bible
Church and the Budiriro Trust in Zimbabwe.
