Portland, OR— Veronica Darling is being recognized by

Over the past 15 years, Ms Darling has established herself
as a prominent attorney in California and Oregon. Joining Cultiva Law in 2019,
a boutique cannabis law firm in Portland, she serves as a compliance and
regulatory counsel on behalf of a local cannabis processor. Long fascinated by
the cannabis industry, Ms. Darling finds constant inspiration in her work as
she concentrates on navigating the Oregon legal landscape and striving for
stability, as well as changing perspectives on a burgeoning industry.

Ms. Darling began her legal career as a clerk to the Honorable Robert L. Hess
and Honorable John Shephard Wiley Jr. of the Los Angeles Superior Court. She
was hired as a litigation associate for Richards, Watson & Gershon in Los
Angeles between 2008 and 2011 and Miller Barondess LLP in Century City, CA,
from 2011 to 2012. Ms. Darling subsequently served as an attorney for Epps
& Coulson LLP IN Los Angeles between 2012 and 2019 and as an in-house
counsel and chief compliance officer for Peak Extracts in Portland, a
women-owned cannabis extract business, from 2015 to 2019.
Gaining significant experience in corporate and regulatory compliance and
litigation during her tenure, Ms. Darling enjoyed several significant wins in
the courtroom, including defending a Southern California city against a $100
million lawsuit by a globally known developer. She also worked on several
notable appellate cases as a junior associate, including a second amendment gun
rights case that went before the Ninth Circuit of Appeals on three separate
occasions.
Ms. Darling prepared for her career by obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in
Political Science at Washington State University and a Doctor of Jurisprudence
at UCLA School of Law. While pursuing her law degree, she served as an extern
for the third division of the California Court of Appeals for the Second
District. Well qualified in her field, she has been admitted to practice by the
California, Washington, and Oregon Bar Associations.
