VINNETTE (VINNY) GIBSON - OWNER

Cochrane, AB Canada-Vinnette (Vinny) Gibson is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a 2 Year Pinnacle Professional in the field of Consulting in recognition of her role as Owner and  Career & Life Management/Transition Consultant of Sunflower Transitions Consulting.

Founder of Sunflower Transitions, a home-based entity specializing in transition consulting established since 2006, Vinnette (Vinny) Gibson is revered for her outstanding work in the industry.  In 2013 Ms. Gibson sustained a Mild Traumatic Brain Injury (Mtbi), after her vehicle was struck by a truck in a M.V.A. After losing her speech, mobility and cognitive function for three years, Ms. Gibson has regained her health, however, she still manages Post-Concussion Syndrome and is now passionate about promoting Brain Injury & Post Concussion Awareness intentionally via her coaching practice. In 2016, Ms. Gibson re-branded her career & life coaching practice.  With her primary focus on coaching survivors of Brain Injury and Post-Concussion Syndrome, Ms. Gibson is sought after for her exceptional contributions to the consulting field.

As an avid community volunteer, Ms. Gibson was a 5-year Board Member of the Cochrane Chamber of Commerce, Chairperson for Cochrane Chamber of Commerce Small Business Gala Awards Committee, a Cochrane Victim Services Advocate, Cochrane Affordable Housing Committee, Seniors for Kids Board Member, a mentor and tutor for The Bow Valley College Newcomers Rural Workplace Mentorship Program and a Founder Member of The Cochrane Business Chicks Networking Group. To further enhance her professional development, she is a distinguished member of Stanford Who’s Who, Alberta Association of Professional Certified Life Skills Coaches (AAPLSC), and Career Development Association of Alberta (CDAA).

In recognition of her many professional accolades, Ms. Gibson was the honorary recipient of the Bow Valley College Career Award, Certificate of Achievement, as a  graduate of the Calgary Brain Injury Assist Program and recognized by Toastmasters for Best Speaker /Evaluator/Table Topics Awards. Ms. Gibson has coached over 100 managers on how to uncover hidden potential in their workforce all while ensuring  teams and organizations consistently show increased improvement.    

When she is not working, Ms. Gibson enjoys gardening, participating in short term third world projects, singing harmony, and completing puzzles.   

In looking to the future, Ms. Gibson hopes to become an international educator, expert, advocate, supporter and motivational speaker for other brain injury survivors, their families, and/or caregivers. Additionally, Ms. Gibson coaches other (online or in-person) survivors who have been struggling beyond 3-6 months, to manage the debilitating effects, lifestyle challenges and symptoms of a mild brain injury, or Post-Concussion Syndrome. Ms. Gibson seeks to live a life full of purpose, intentionally fulfilling her business passions and life pursuits, thereby inspiring and empowering other survivors to also live into their “new normal.”

Ms. Gibson wishes to give recognition for her own recovery, to Functional Neurology Therapists and Functional Neurology book resources. Ms. Gibson also dedicates her passion to pursue her new business path to Dr. Mark Hyman, Functional Neurologist, Dr. Clark Elliott, PhD., and Dr. Titus Chiu.
